Equipment

  • 8” cast iron skillet, baking sheet or pan

Ingredients
  

  • 1 - 8 ” wheel of brie cheese
  • 1/3 cup fig jam or butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil
  • Crostini or Crackers for serving

Instructions
 

For the Prep

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the wheel of brie on a baking sheet or pan lined with parchment paper, or 8” cast iron skillet.
  • In a small bowl, mix the fig jam or butter, honey, balsamic glaze, pepper flakes, salt and pepper to taste.

For Assembly and Baking

  • Spread the fig jam evenly over the top of the brie.
  • Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the fig jam.
  • [Optional] Drizzle the honey over the top of the nuts.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the brie is soft and gooey.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  • For a touch of elegance, drizzle the baked brie with a balsamic reduction before serving.
  • Serve the baked brie with crostini or crackers for dipping and enjoy!
